Jeffrey P. Koplan
Jeffrey P. Koplan, MD, MPH, was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in January 2010.
Koplan is vice president for Global Health at Emory University. He also serves as director of the Emory Global Health Institute. Previously, Koplan was vice president for Academic Health Affairs in Emory’s Woodruff Health Sciences Center. He is the former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Koplan is a master of the American College of Physicians and a former member of the U.S. Institute of Medicine’s Governing Council. He has served on many advisory groups and consultancies in the United States and overseas, and has had several international academic appointments. He has written more than 200 scientific papers. He is a trustee of the China Medical Board, Marcus Family Foundation and Michael C. Carlos Museum. He is a former trustee of Yale University.
Koplan is a graduate of Yale College, Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Harvard School of Public Health.
