Social Impact Exchange Convenes Funders, Investors for 2011 Conference on Scaling Impact
On June 15 and 16, 2011, the Social Impact Exchange (SIE) hosted its 2011 Conference on Scaling Impact in New York City. Supported in-part by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, this invitation-only event was held for funders, philanthropists, philanthropic advisors, and social investors interested in learning about innovative methods to support high-impact nonprofit initiatives that are scaling their impact.
Several Foundation staff members, including VP team members Nancy Barrand, Jane Lowe and Brenda Henry attended the event. Additionally, Vulnerable Populations Portfolio grantee Playworks was highlighted as one of six organizations poised to be scaled for impact, with President and Founder, Jill Vialet, being given the opportunity to share her business plan to achieve this goal.
The SIE is a first-of-its kind collaboration of philanthropic funders, practitioners, researchers and others designed to make it easier for top-performing social programs to expand widely to communities that need them. The initiative is supported by RWJF, the Growth Philanthropy Network and Duke University.
