The Foundation's Program to Promote Long-Term Care Insurance for the Elderly was designed to stimulate private/public partnerships at the state level for the development of long-term care insurance for the elderly.The New York State Department of Social Services has been awarded a planning grant to develop a long-term care insurance initiative. Grant funds will be used for research (data analyses, utilization and cost projections, etc.) and for refining the model for a public/private approach. Specific objectives of this project are: (1) to develop a long-term care database; (2) to conduct a public education campaign; and (3) to prepare a fundable demonstration proposal.
