The Foundation's program, Partnerships for Training: Regional Education Systems for Nurse Practitioners, Certified Nurse-Midwives, and Physician Assistants, was designed to address shortages of primary care practitioners in medically underserved areas through development of innovative regional education models for nurse practitioners, certified nurse-midwives, and physicians assistants that emphasize training these new professionals within their own communities.This grant provides technical assistance and direction support for the Partnerships for Training program. The principal objectives of the effort are to:( 1) assist in developing program brochure and proposal application packets; (2) plan and conduct an applicant workshop for grant applicants; (3) coordinate activities for the National Advisory Committee; (4) review proposals and conduct site visits; (5) assist in selecting sites; and (6) conduct an annual meeting.
