This project will investigate the issues involved in the optimization of treatment of depression in a primary care setting. The staff will conduct a literature review and discussions with key researchers, site visits to established "best practice" programs and will meet with key stakeholders in the areas of primary care and mental health to identify funding and organizational barriers and perceived opportunities for improved treatment of depression in the primary care setting.Using the information derived from this project, the consultants will prepare a report and an oral presentation for the Foundation summarizing their findings and identifying potential opportunities for the Foundation in this area.
