The Foundation's program, New Jersey Health Initiatives, was designed to support projects in New Jersey that develop new approaches to resolving the state's health care needs, focusing on the Foundation's goal areas.New advances in pain control can offer significant relief to individuals. However, this information has not reached the majority of community physicians and health professionals, or those who establish public policies that impact on pain control. This project will provide information and training for health care professionals throughout the State, establish pain control action plans in each participating institution, and provide accurate and culturally sensitive information on complex public policy issues relative to pain. Surveys, long-term follow up, and patient satisfaction audits will quantify the impact of the project.
