The Foundation's program Cash & Counseling was designed to expand a proven model of consumer-directed supportive services to more states, allowing thousands more older adults and people with disabilities to have choice and control over the care they receive.Under this grant, the University of Maryland Center on Aging will continue to provide technical assistance and direction to the four states selected to conduct cash and counseling demonstrations--Arkansas, Florida, New Jersey, and New York. During the one-year period of the grant, the National Program Office (NPO) will: (1) maintain communication and coordination among the grantee states, and among NPO, RWJF, and program evaluation staff through regular conference calls; (2) monitor grantee progress and provide technical assistance through phone calls, site visits, and provision of expert consultation; (3) convene an annual grantee meeting; and (4) disseminate program materials and information through presentations at national meetings and preparation of journal articles and book chapters for publication.
