This grant provides partial support to enable the Partnerships for Children's Health (PCH) to serve as a timely resource for technical assistance to four new regional child health collaboratives across the country. The collaboratives are specifically intended to engage higher education (i.e., staff training) in the needs of public service agencies in their regions (state and county) responsible for the health and welfare of children and families. PCH was formed in 1997 to pursue this role for higher education as a new institutional mission. It has helped to organize child health collaboratives in such other cities and regions as El Paso, West Virginia, Florida, and San Diego. The PCH program office is based at the Harvard School of Public Health. It is governed by a 19-member board with important standing in higher education and community health.
