The Foundation's Cash & Counseling program was designed to provide an expansion of a proven model of consumer-directed supportive services to more states, allowing thousands more older adults and people with disabilities to have choice and control over the care they receive. This grant will provide support for the Department of Elder Affairs' Consumer Directed Care Research Project. This project is a coordinated effort between several state agencies, the Department of Elder Affairs (the lead agency), the Department of Children and Families, and the Agency for Health Care Administration. The purpose of this project is to determine if consumers can be in control of their own services and the budgets associated with those services.
