The Foundation's Investigator Awards in Health Policy Research Program was designed to support highly qualified individuals to undertake broad studies of the most challenging policy issues in health and health care facing America. This grant supports continued technical assistance and direction for this program by the Institute for Health, Health Care Policy, and Aging Research, at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. During this grant cycle, the National Program Office (NPO) at Rutgers will focus on marketing the Program and organizing and managing the application process. The NPO will continue its work to monitor a program research pipeline and identify projects that have the potential to be of interest to policy-makers, the media, and other interest groups. In addition, the NPO will continue to encourage investigators to publish articles in peer-reviewed journals and will produce profiles for up to six investigators who are completing their work through the Author Series to highlight findings and/or policy recommendations. The program Web site will be enhanced to improve its clarity and utility each year.
