Weight status and quality of care among older adults in the United States - Virginia W. Chang, M.D., Ph.D.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Physician Faculty Scholars Program was designed to strengthen the leadership and academic productivity of junior medical school faculty who are dedicated to improving health and health care.This grant supports a study that will consider whether quality of care differs by patient weight status for common preventive services relating to diabetes care, cancer screening, and vaccinations against influenza and pneumonia. These services will be examined among elderly U.S. Medicare beneficiaries because older adults are disproportionately affected by such illnesses.
