The Foundation's program, Project HealthDesign: Rethinking the Power and Potential of Personal Health Records, was designed to expand a vision of personal health records and encourage the market to develop products that meet the diverse needs of patients. The purpose of this transitional funding is to allow for further development and enhancement of selected features of the personal health application prototype that Research Triangle Institute has developed as part of Project HealthDesign, allowing for additional functionality and a richer user experience. In order to accomplish this endeavor, the project team will first go back to the findings of the three focus groups conducted during the design phase and review relevant information related to the calendar, data reporting, and messaging features of the prototype system. The deliverables will be an enhanced prototype and the open source code and documentation needed to support the prototype.
