Continued support for Health Affairs, 2008-2011
The purpose of funding the health policy journal Health Affairs is to provide objective information on health issues to policy makers and other influential people. This grant includes six deliverables. First, Health Affairs will develop three special issues on topics mutually agreed upon by the journal and the Foundation. Second, the journal of 10,000 subscribers will increase the number of issues from 6 to 10 or 11 per year. Third, it will produce 25 to 50 policy briefs per year that will be co-branded with the Foundation and available on the Foundation Web site. Fourth, the journal will continue its communications outreach to the media. Fifth, it will allow the Foundation to post Foundation-funded research on www.rwjf.org. Finally, Health Affairs will develop a plan for a moderated blog or similar communications effort.
