This project will continue development of the Quality and Safety Education for Nurses (QSEN) state-of-the-art nursing school curriculum on quality and safety in health care, which will help future nurses achieve competencies in six areas: patient-centered care, teamwork, evidence-based care, quality improvement, safety and informatics. The grantee will provide the following deliverables: 18 Web-based modules on key topic areas in quality and safety; two national forums to convene expert nursing faculty to share and refine content and teaching strategies; a speaker's bureau for expert faculty; engagement of professional regulatory bodies to encourage the incorporation of the six competencies in accreditation and licensure; the inclusion of QSEN content in at least five nursing textbooks; the publication of five articles; and a sustainability plan.
