The Center for Closing the Health Gap in Greater Cincinnati, in partnership with three Avondale churches, will mobilize an existing faith-based coalition to advance policies that improve the availability of healthy, affordable foods in the Avondale neighborhood. The coalition will conduct a community food assessment, build capacity among coalition members and educate policy makers about the importance of access to healthy, affordable foods. The grantee will not use Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funds for lobbying. This project is part of the Foundation's Childhood Obesity team's solicitation for Faith-Based Advocacy : Galvanizing Communities to End Childhood Obesity.
