The purpose of this project is to develop policies to create a logo system in grocery stores and other outlets selling food to identify affordable and healthy foods. Additionally, Project SPARK (Sports, Physical Activity and Recreation Komunidat ), a broad-based coalition led by Guam SDA Ypao Church of the Guam Micronesia Missions, will ensure the safety of specific parks in two villages where the rate of childhood overweight and obesity is 63 percent. As the head of this coalition, the church will engage the business community, government leaders and youth in a variety of activities centered on the policies and on the implementation and sustainability of the initiative. No Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funds will be used for lobbying.
