The Foundation's initiative, Aligning Forces for Quality: The Regional Market Place, was designed to help communities across the country align health care forces to improve the quality of health care.This contract provides funds for the consulting services of Harold D. Miller, M.S., President of Futures Strategies, LLC, to provide guidance to the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation about potential strategies the Foundation could use to encourage the development and successful implementation of more value-based healthcare payment systems. Strategies will include ways to encourage the development and use of payment methods that are most likely to be successful with different types of patients; different provider organizational structures; and different market conditions across the country; and ways to help consumers, providers, purchasers, and payers successfully transition from current payment methods to more value-based payment structures.
