This grant supports Grantmakers for Children, Youth and Families (GCYF) in guiding the Healthy Men, Healthy Communities initiative to serve as a coordinator, convener and learning venue for funders seeking to achieve long-term improvement for marginalized males and their communities. Project goals are to: (1) mobilize the philanthropic community to address the needs of marginalized males; (2) establish strategies that promote healthy-male involvement in families and communities; and (3) leverage philanthropic investments and strategies to advance public funding for healthy-men and healthy-community outcomes. GCYF will accomplish these goals by organizing the field through: (1) conference presentations, electronic newsletters, Webinars and conference calls to build a foundation for content knowledge; (2) in-person seminars and toolkits to determine grantmaking strategies and identify the research that affects minority and marginalized men; and (3) collaborative grantmaking initiatives and policy advocacy for more equitable opportunities for marginalized males.
