The Foundation's initiative, Aligning Forces for Quality: The Regional Market Place, was designed to help communities across the country align health care forces to improve the quality of health care. This project will support a follow-up survey of physician organizations in the 17 communities participating in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Aligning Forces for Quality (AF4Q) initiative, as well as a national comparison sample, to measure change in the characteristics of physician practices and to determine whether AF4Q is having its intended effect of improving the quality of care delivered in these practices. Deliverables will include a community-specific report for each of the 17 AF4Q grantees; reports and presentations to the Foundation, the AF4Q national program office and other stakeholders; articles in academic journals; and presentations at academic conferences. An additional deliverable will be a public-use dataset for inclusion in the Foundation's Health and Medical Care Archive.
