Supporting a seminar series to examine placebos and their potential to transform health care delivery
This project will explore the potential of placebos to improve health care delivery and patient well being by supporting a seminar series that engages an interdisciplinary set of ideas and collaborators. By bringing together experts in placebo studies with patient advocates, medical educators, health care providers and a range of academic researchers, the project will create a broader understanding about what is currently known from placebo studies and highlight opportunities for greater application and investigation. The project will also encourage seminar participants to collaborate, especially across disciplines, to produce academic papers and lay publications that further explore the potential of placebos. Deliverables will include scholarly papers, popular publications, white papers, online videos, public lectures and an online forum for leading thinkers in placebo studies.
