Enhancing the viability of a social-media tool that can monitor and measure connectivity across the public health field, Phase 2

This grant supports continued development and sustainability of PARTNER (Program to Analyze, Record, and Track Networks to Enhance Relationships), a Web-based tool for social-network data collection and analysis that allows practitioners and researchers to measure the interorganizational connectivity of public health departments to other organizations over time. Danielle Varda, PhD, assistant professor at the University of Colorado Denver, developed PARTNER in 2006 with funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). Varda and her colleagues will work with an organizational-development consultant to: (1) gather and analyze input from a sample of PARTNER users; (2) conduct a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis; (3) develop a sustainability plan that will include vision and mission statements, a value proposition, and strategies for attracting and securing diverse financial resources; (4) execute sustainability strategies; and (5) assess sustainability-strategy outcomes. This grant will also support project staff in maintaining PARTNER during sustainability planning and execution.
