The Foundation's initiative, New Connections: Bringing Diversity to RWJF Grantmaking and Increasing Secondary Data Analyses, was designed to address needs for data that can inform the Foundation's program planning or measure progress toward its strategic objectives. This contract supports Sharon Norris-Shelton, program consultant for New Connections, in developing and managing technical training and professional development for grantees, alumni, and the program's network of more than 1,200 diverse researchers. In collaboration with the national program office (NPO), Norris-Shelton will assist in program dissemination activities, outreach efforts, field development, database management, and communications efforts. She will also work with the NPO in expanding the current level of technical/methodological training, mentoring/leadership development, and writing support offered to New Connections network members. This contract will also support management and administrative services for the program's major meetings, including the annual symposium, and the research and coaching clinic. Activities and deliverables include: venue selection; meeting theme(s); materials; meeting application; recruitment strategy; securing facilitators; securing contracts for all vendors; and processing honoraria payments, reimbursements, and billings for meeting participants, speakers and vendors.
