Designing New Approaches to Increase Nurse Education Capacity
This paper was commissioned by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation; the Center toChampion Nursing in America; and the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment andTraining Administration to provide background for participants attending the nationalNursing Education Summit in June 2008.
The purpose of this paper is to provide a concise but comprehensive understanding of thecomplexity of nursing education capacity, and to inform Summit participants ofpioneering solutions currently in development across the nation. The paper is designed tostimulate innovative thinking and help multistakeholder teams develop and implementcreative solutions to the challenge of insufficient nursing education capacity.
