Problem Synopsis: Women in rural areas, face increased barriers to accessing family planning services such as a limited number of providers and a limited choice of providers and pharmacy services.
Synopsis of the Work: Planned Parenthood Columbia/Willamette developed a business plan for expanding its existing Online Health Center to other states. The Online Health Center allowed women in Oregon and Washington to access contraceptive services via the Internet.
Key Results: Planned Parenthood Columbia/Willamette completed a business plan, “Online Health Center Expansion,” which examined the market opportunity and community need for such an expansion, and identified the legal, regulatory and business issues that would be involved. However, it could not obtain funds for an expansion.
