Better Recess, Better Learning

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is hosting a briefing to share results from a randomized trial, which found a healthy recess with Playworks reduced bullying and exclusionary behavior, made kids feel safer at recess and helped students transition back to the classroom to focus on learning.

Positive Effects

Results from cohort 1 of this randomized study showed that teachers reported less bullying and tended to report better student behavior at recess, and students felt safer and more included at recess.
