An evaluation of the WIN A STEP UP workforce development intervention for nursing assistants provided evidence for the viability of the program. Managers offered positive evaluation of the program and participants reported improvements in various aspects of their jobs.

A study of related caregivers explores characteristics of those that stay or leave the direct care workforce. Stayers' characteristics were similar to career direct care workers. Over 40 percent of Leavers would consider future direct care work with people to whom they were not related.
