A study of the effects of concurrent peer review visits on treatment intensification and control of hypertension, hyperlipidemia and diabetes in a community health center found that the visits improved outcomes for hypertension patients and increased treatment intensification for all three conditions.

Studying Maine's Pathways to Excellence Program

Researchers at the University of Southern Maine studied the state's Pathways to Excellence system of reporting on health care quality. Practices that filed reports had higher scores on six indicators of health care quality than those that did not.

New Data, Same Story?

This study used recent data from a single time period to assess the performance of local health systems in 30 states. The authors used the 10 essential public health services (EPHS) as the standard of measurement.
