Two Massachusetts Colleges Partner to Offer Fast-Track BSN Program

Newton, Mass.-based Sussex County Community College has partnered with nearby Felician College to offer a fast-track bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree program for R.N.s, the Sparta Independent reports. Slated to be offered at Sussex's Newton campus, the program is available to R.N.s. who have their associate degree in nursing or a nursing diploma and who have earned at least 30 liberal arts credits. The R.N.-to-BSN program includes 30 credits of nursing-specific courses and 30 credits of liberal arts and science courses. In addition, the program incorporates six credits of graduate-level coursework to encourage students to pursue master's degrees at Felician College. According to the Sparta Independent, the program can be completed in 19 months, with students attending one full day of classes per week throughout the program's duration (Sparta Independent, 10/28/09).
