With their intimate knowledge of patient safety and quality care, nurse leaders should be natural assets to the board of directors of health care organizations. But for the most part, nurse leaders are overlooked for these positions.

In this article from a recent issue of Modern Healthcare, the chairman of the Clarian Health Board tells firsthand the value of having a nurse lead efforts to improve health care quality and safety.
