Tonya Aldrich joined the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) in 2000. She currently serves as the program associate for several senior-level RWJF managers within the Foundation’s grantmaking unit. She views her career as “an ideal opportunity to help others lead healthier lives.”
With her extensive administrative experience, Tonya’s work has included mentoring and training, and ensuring a steady workflow. She has also coordinated RWJF learning site visits, which enable staff to observe programs firsthand and thereby draw connections between community efforts and RWJF’s Culture of Health vision.
Previously, Tonya served as a program team coordinator, working with Foundation programs focused on vulnerable populations, childhood obesity, and health coverage. She also worked as a program administrative assistant, supporting the work of senior program officers. Earlier, she was an administrative assistant with Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Tonya, whose formative years were spent in Virginia, Illinois, and Southeast Asia, presently resides in Ewing, N.J. She earned a BA from Rider University and an Associate in Humanities degree from Mercer County Community College.
She enjoys domestic and international travel, reading fiction, baking, and doting on her dog, a mixed-breed border collie/lab.
