Beth Toner
Director, Program Communications
Beth Toner has more than 30 years of experience in marketing and corporate communications. She is also a registered nurse with clinical experience in long-term care and community health settings.
In her current role, Beth leads a team of communications professionals who provide strategic communications support for Foundation programs. She finds her work at the Foundation to be the perfect blend of her two passions: communications and healthcare. “I chose nursing as a second career because I care deeply about making a difference in the lives of people when they are at their most vulnerable,” she said. “This role allows me to do that in a systemic way.”
Beth joined the Foundation in 2012 from The Hartford, where she was director of marketing initiatives for the Advanced Markets Group. Prior to her work with The Hartford, Beth was a senior web content developer for The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has also served as a multimedia communications specialist for the University of Pennsylvania Health System and a public relations coordinator for Harleysville Insurance.
Beth holds an associate of applied science in nursing from Delaware County Community College, a bachelor’s degree in communications from Messiah College, a master of journalism degree from Temple University, and a master of science in nursing from Eastern Mennonite University, and a master of fine arts degree from Dominican University of California.
